The sixth Annual SNUG Israel convened on February 28, 2006, at the Daniel Hotel in Herzelia, Israel. Four hundred seventy attendees representing 90 companies came together to exchange ideas, discuss problems and explore solutions with fellow design engineers and Synopsys' technical staff.
The SNUG program began with a brief welcome and introduction by Ori Chalak of Analog Devices, the SNUG Israel 2006 Technical Chairperson. It was standing-room only when Steve Meier, Synopsys VP of the R&D Implementation Group, delivered the keynote speech. Following the keynote, attendees were offered a full agenda of 18 user presentations, seven R&D and user panels, and five tutorials. Topics covered included functional verification, low power, extraction, design-for-test, mixed-signal, physical design, and more.
At the end of the day, a cocktail reception provided a relaxed atmosphere for the awards presentations. As determined by the technical committee, this year's SNUG Israel "Best Paper Award" went to Yaron Shachar of Dune Networks, for their paper entitled, "Distributed Full System Simulation Using SystemC." Congratulations Yaron!
Thank you to all authors, technical committee members and attendees for making SNUG Israel 2006 the best one ever!
